September marks the end of the Spring/Summer listing of our Paolo & Otis in Aldi stores. Fear not though we have have a couple of new ones hitting the shelves as I type, the sharp eyed amongst you may even have already spotted these, either on shelf or on our website.
Last winter we set our brew team the task of brewing a selection of new brews as possibles to replace Klute & Brel (sorry folks, they are retiring for now), two of which, if they passed the tasting/selection panel, would go in for the Autumn/Winter season. The team absolutely smashed it out the park and produced 6 fantastic beers however the two selected by Aldi are....
Six States - 5.7% (New England / White IPA)
With a juicy tropical fruit aroma, balanced by the refreshing, spicy addition of citrus peel & a pinch of coriander seed it's a mash up of a New England Pale & a White IPA.
Heavily dry hopped with a medium bitterness it delivers a smoother, rounder flavour which, combined with the presence of wheat & oats results in a full body and natural haze.
- Malts: Pale Malt, Wheat, Oats, Vienna Malt, Cara Malt
- Hops: Magnum, Mosaic, Citra, Sabro
- Extras: Orange Peel, Lime Peel & Coriander Seed
Cherry Baby - 4.5% (Cherry Lager)
Cherry Baby is a bright, clear Cherry lager. A backbeat of cherry fruit defies convention while the Germanic (Kölsch style) Ale yeast delivers an underlying body that is balanced by subtle floral hop bite.
Simultaneous softness & bitter snap deliver a refreshing and utterly enjoyable drinking experience.
- Malts: Pale Malt, Vienna Malt, Cara Malt
- Hops: Magnum, Saaz
- Extras: Scottish Sweet Red Cherry, Cherry Flavour
Other good news is that another two of the brew team's recipes will also be making a special, short appearance at some point too, but more on that soon.
