On the 3rd & 4th of September we will be back down at SWG3 for the second Let's Eat Glasgow event with the Real Food, Real Folk co-operative. The non-profit organisation throws this charitable event to raise money to support local community enterprises, helping educate communities across the city of ways to grown, make & cook more locally produced food.
The event will once again take over the end of Kelvinhaugh St and into the adjoining SWG3 venue. Last year's event was a total sell out, so this year it's back, BIGGER & better. The original co-operative (consisting of Cail Bruich, Cottonrake, Crabshakk, The Gannet, Guy's, Mother India, Ox & Finch, Stravaigin & Ubiquitous Chip) will be joined by further food stalls from: Wee Guys, Banana Leaf, Lychee Oriental, Eusebi's Deli, Cafe Gandolfi, The Hanoi Bike Shop & more!
Not only has the food offerings been expanded, there has also been expansion of the fantastic producers market that will be set up inside the SWG3 bar area. From cheese makers, coffee roasters, oysters, scotch eggs to alcohol producers, there will be plenty of local produce for people to discover and take away with them.
Of course no food event is complete without some refreshments to wash it all down with. We shall be providing the bar, stocked with craft beer, traditional soft drinks & spirits kindly donated by other local producers. We have even collaborated with the guys at Real Food, Real Folk & Drygate on a special festival brew.
What we have created is a highly refreshing Gooseberry & Elderflower Saison. The beer will be available on draft on the day alongside other Williams & Drygate brews but there are already fresh cans of the beer for sale in the Real Food Real Folk establishments.
So stick the date in your diary, get the day off work and pick up your food vouchers from the Let's Eat Glasgow website in advance to avoid disappointment!
